How the Shuttle Endeavour was Mounted to the 747

At the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Endeavour was mounted atop NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, or SCA, in preparation for its ferry flight to California.

The SCA, a modified 747 jetliner, flew Endeavour to Los Angeles where it will be placed on public display at the California Science Center. This is the final ferry flight scheduled in the Space Shuttle Program era.

Endeavour completed its final mission with a landing at the Kennedy Space Center at 06:34 UTC on June 1, 2011. Over its flight career, Endeavour flew 122,853,151 miles and spent 299 days in space.
